“Now, O my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.”  2 Chronicles 6:40

Saint Faustina Kowalska, is very close to my heart.  Her writings stir my soul to action.  Today I am sharing an excerpt about prayer from her Diary, Divine Mercy In My Soul.

“Prayer. – A soul arms itself by prayer for all kinds of combat.  In whatever state the soul may be, it ought to pray.  A soul which is pure and beautiful must pray, or else it will lose its beauty; a soul which is striving after this purity must pray, or else it will never attain it; a soul which is newly converted must pray, or else it will fall again; a sinful soul, plunged in sins, must pray so that it might rise again  There is no soul which is not bound to pray, for every single grace comes to the soul through prayer.”

My hope in sharing from the writings of Saint Faustina is that Jesus’ message of Divine Mercy for all will resonate in your own soul and lead you to a deeper, more meaningful relationship with Him.  Only through prayer can such be achieved.  There is no soul which is not bound to pray so let us pray for one another.
