“The word of Yahweh is straightforward, all he does springs from his constancy.  He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fills the earth.”  Psalm 33:4-5

We have His Word.  With it we have a blueprint, an example, to live out our life on earth so that we may live in Life Eternal.  His Word is straightforward, His Word is constant.

As we pass through life we find ourselves in many different circumstances, in many fluctuating moods, and with ever changing goals.  We change, others change, life changes, the world changes, but God doesn’t change.  God is constant.

To be constant is to be continual, on-going.  To be constant is to remain faithful.  God is faithful in His characteristics of uprightness and justice.  He is faithful in His love.  As stated above, it fills the earth.

I lean heavily on the fact that in this ever changing, fickle world God is constant.  I know, that while the world changes, His Word never changes.  “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)  I know that when I consult His Word, I will find consistent, unwavering answers to all of my questions, to all of my problems.  I know the more I spend time in His Word, the more I live in His Word, the straighter my path becomes, the more assured I am of achieving my ultimate goal of Eternal Life.

Because I am constantly changing, my path is a curvy, wavy line weaving over and under a straight line, a constant course laid out before me in faithful love by a God who is upright and just, a God whose Word is constant.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.  I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.”  (Psalm 119:105-106)
