The month of May is a month of devotion to Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary was called upon by God to serve all mankind as the vessel that delivered salvation to the world. Christ came through her to us, and we can go through her to Him. Devotion to Mary is honoring her as His Mother. As our Mother, she is ever willing to bring our petitions before Him in the special way that only a mother can. My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,

He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
